Inès Sen,
XAnge Private Equity

Inès is a financial analyst by training and an expert in the postal business. For the past dozen years, she has been involved in the strategic development of La Poste, the sponsor of XAnge Capital, in the strategic planning department as a the Head of Strategy at the New Services Development Department. She has special expertise in the areas of secure connectivity and was the president of CertiNomis, the certification authority for La Poste Group. Previously, Sen worked as a financial analyst at Caisse Nationale de Crédit Agricole.

Inès is a graduate of Sciences Economiques and Sciences Politiques (Paris), as well as Ecole des Langues Orientales.

Peter Baines
Advent Venture Partners


Peter Baines has been a General Partner at Advent Venture Partners in London since 1999, following six years with Schroder Ventures (now Permira) in their technology team, based in Paris. Peter has 15 years experience in investing in growing technology businesses, both early-stage and later stage companies. Previously, he has worked in software development with Picker International and in business and IT consulting with PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He serves on the boards of several portfolio companies, including Daily Motion, Amberfin and Snell & Wilcox. He holds a BSc from Imperial College, London and a M.B.A. from INSEAD.

Valéry Huot
CDC Innovation


Valéry has been instrumental in the reshaping of CDC Innovation since 2004.
Before joining CDC Innovation, Valéry co-led the Fund-of-Fund team at Caisse des Dépôts (2001-2004).
Previously, Valéry was co-heading the SME Financing Office at the French Treasury (1999-2001), with overall responsibility for private equity market development, SME financing and innovation policy fostering. He played a leading role in laying the foundations for the creation of incubators, early stage funds and public fund-of-funds.
Prior to that, Valéry worked (1996-1999) for the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA), where he was managing the technical team involved in the governmental telecommunications satellite project Syracuse III. During that time, he played a key role in defining with international partners the architecture trade-offs, as well as negotiating with suppliers the technical options, calendars and offers.
He started his career in Australia at Telstra, the national incumbent telecom operator, working in a joint R&D department with Sydney University on CDMA mobile architectures (1994-1995).
Valéry has over 13 years of experience in Private Equity and Telecoms. Valéry holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in Paris (X90).
