Management of 100 assets within one second
Anti-theft detection gate up to 1 meter

The city of Marseilles with its 17 libraries paves the way to ASK new C.label® solution. The project is a world premiere as for its volume and performances. It includes the automated management and anti-theft system for over 1.5 million assets through RFID stickers and secured and loyalty management of 150.000 contactless cards holders.

Main issue:

Heavy labor consuming tasks have led to envision more efficient technology for libraries. So far, library staff had to create and manage paper files, count items and register them manually, review all files to make sure items are returned in time.

Main features:

This system is based upon the C.label®, developed and manufactured by ASK to label all assets from the library including books, CDs, video tapes or cassettes and the C.ticket® for the subscribers contactless cards. Both products provide a full automated solution for the libraries management. Customers can borrow or return assets within a split second just putting down the pile of items and the card on the same reader.

The solution includes:
Contactless sticker labels (read/write/anti-theft protection) in various formats and packaging to fit all library assets (CD, books, video tapes and cassettes)
Contactless cards to manage library customers. These cards include a private e-purse.
Contactless readers (ASKGEN320) to manage simultaneously library assets and the holder card
Self-service automatic machines to borrow items
Self-service automatic machines to return items
Hand held contactless readers to inventory and register all assets directly on the shelves
Anti-theft gates to protect assets passing through without proper borrowing.
